It is an old cultivated variety diffused everywhere in Europe.
The tree is strong, vigorous, with a good and constant productive capacity that produces fruits mostly on “lamburde”: the not sufficient affinity with the quince recommends the use of the intermediate branch or the graft on clones which reduce yet the characteristic bronzing; also the self rooting of the micro propagated trees lights up the peel of the fruits.
The fruit is large, with a rust-coloured peel.
The pulp is of an medium consistence, sugary, aromatic and very delicate; it preserves well in the short period and it is subject to alterations after the picking up.
The picking up takes place the second decade of September.
